IMPORTANT RULES & THE ODD TIP
[] This Game does NOT need "Fixing" in any way to run on any
machine,Falcon owners must use BACKWARDS and boot in ATARI ST
Low Resolution at 8mhz
[] Do not use a Ram Disk with this Game on any machine as it
will adversely effect the way the game runs
[] 1 Meg owners MUST boot from an Auto Folder, and boot clean, you
should also remove the "FALCON.SAM" file from the disk and
leave the disk un writeprotected to be able to use the Save\
Load features
[] Floppy disk users with more than 1 meg of memory must ensure
the game is on a disk formatted to at least 2:10:80,
If downloaded from the Internet then you must format to at
least this spec for the SAVE option to work, if you have this
disk from a PD Library then it should be ready as is, Please
leave un writeprotected for the Save / Load options, You must
also remove whichever program you do not need, So if you can
run the game without using the program named "FIXED.PRG" then
delete it, or if you have to use FIXED.PRG then delete
the ORIGINAL.PRG,Keeping both on disk will not leave you with
enough Disk space for the SAVE/LOAD files,
[] If DIAMOND-ICE does not run, then replace the ORIGINAL.PRG with
the FIXED.PRG and re-try, both should be on disk, and this will
only need to be implemented if you have TOS 2.06 or a Falcon
[] Only remove the FALCON.SAM file if you have a One meg ATARI,
this is true no matter what type of machine you own,
[] In the game, you can only drop objects at a Red Flag, The
exception would be if you are using the object, you can try &
drop it anywhere then.
[] Most of the charactors you meet in the game will give good
advice, so ignore them at your peril,
[] This Game is "Commentware" and as such, we would realy expect
you to write and let us know you appreciate our efforts, if
not, then our incentive to write FREE software will be nil!,
Feedback from you the user,Is the ONLY payment we ask for and
thats not much surely, we will continue to make games for the
ATARI ST as long as you tell us to.......
[] Pulling back the Joystick near a mobile phone will let you
interact with it by way of a three choice menu, Choosing Count
Cubes will return a figure denoting the amount of Ice Cubes
you have collected, Toggle Music will allow STe and Falcon
users to turn the Music on/off,this will have little effect on
a FM, Reset Game will in effect have the same consequences as
Dying,ie: the game will reload all files and reset all game
Variables, ( A double check is first performed )
[] Pulling back the Joystick near a red bottle will not only empty
the bottle but also replenish your health
..ooOoo..
OOoOO
Diamond-Ice is a direct follow up to Heartland, from the
great response we had from that game ( Well done Mrs Samm from
Luton, Officialy the first person to complete Heartland ) a few of
you asked where the puzzle element was, well our intention was to
make a fast and very uncomplicated easy to play platformer,I think
we managed that, but you all thought it needed a puzzle element,
so here we have it, Objects to find, pick up, carry and use, Along
your travels you will meet Eskimos such as Eric & Ernie and Phil &
Grant as well as grumpy or helpfull old men, Penguins and quite a
few sarcastic Snowmen, There are things to figure out and traps
you may fall into, don't expect an easy ride with this one,
As you know, Sissy and Sassy have just succesfully found the
thirteen Hearts Cards hidden around Heartland, but while they
where having that adventure, some sneaky git has gone and nicked
the set of Diamonds, But instead of hiding them all over the
place, they have encased them in a block of DIAMOND-ICE dah dahh,
Your mission should you choose to accept it <yawn> is to
find the cards (this is quite simple) and then find some way of
melting the Diamond Ice (Not so simple),
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Some of you will have recognised the main Charactor from
the classic DIZZY series of games, We used this little chappy in
Heartland and everyone commented they where so glad to see him
brought back to life that we simply had to keep him for Diamond
Ice,
I must point out that we are in no way trying to take
credit for the DIZZY Charactor or its Artwork, this was as far as
we know the creation of Codemasters, we did try to contact them,
but the information we recieved was that they had merged or been
bought by another company, who in turn merged etc with another
country and it would seem a nightmare to find anyone interested in
the copyright holders, so we decided as No Person or Company
should ever be making any profit from any STOSSER Software title
as it's all FREE software then we could not be accused of anything
underhand, and on both occasions we have entered all this
information into the associated documentation, Thus STOSSER
Software are prepared to take full responsibility for the use of
the DIZZY sprite (that is presuming anyone wants to sue me for the
90pence in my building society account?)
The most important thing we can hope for is that you the
user enjoys this game, and please do take the time to write and
tell us, after all we took the time to create the game, for FREE?
Cheers....!ynoT
